Amy (Jaynes) Harris, LPC
Co-Owner and Clinical Co-Director
When you’re facing something life-altering—like a cancer diagnosis—you don’t look for just any doctor. You look for a specialist. Someone with deep expertise, advanced training, and a track record of helping people through exactly what you’re facing.
The same is true when your relationship is in crisis.
If your marriage feels like it’s falling apart, working with a therapist who specializes in couples counseling can make all the difference. While many therapists offer general support, specialized couples therapy—especially Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)—is designed specifically to help partners repair trust, rebuild connection, and create lasting change.
This belief has shaped my entire career.
I’ve intentionally focused on becoming an expert in helping couples navigate high-stakes relationship challenges. I’ve worked with hundreds of couples facing affairs, betrayal, communication breakdowns, and emotional disconnection. In many cases, they come in feeling hopeless—unsure if their relationship can survive.
That’s where our work begins.
My role is to help you slow down the conflict, understand the deeper patterns beneath the surface, and create new ways of connecting that actually work. I help you make sense of the pain, the history, and the cycles that keep you stuck—so you can move forward with clarity and intention.
Because underneath the frustration and distance, most couples want the same thing:
To feel loved.
To feel understood.
To feel accepted by the person who matters most.
If that’s what you want, we’ll work together to uncover what’s getting in the way—and how to change it.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
A Bit About Me
I’m a lifelong Georgia native, a proud University of Georgia graduate, and—most importantly—a wife, mom, animal lover, bookworm, and artist at heart. My life is deeply rooted in connection, creativity, and relationships, which is exactly what led me to the work I do today.
My clinical journey began with a focus on the psychological impact of illness and disability, earning my master’s degree in medical rehabilitation counseling. Early in my career, I had the privilege of helping individuals navigate complex medical experiences. That work was meaningful—but it also revealed something deeper.
When one person is struggling, the entire family feels it.
I saw partners, parents, and children all impacted—often overwhelmed, disconnected, and unsure how to support one another. Relationships were strained. Communication broke down. And in many cases, the emotional bond that once felt secure began to fracture.
I knew there had to be a better way to help—not just individuals, but the relationships that sustain them.
That search led me to Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach to couples therapy grounded in attachment science. Unlike many models, EFT doesn’t just offer insight—it creates real, lasting change. Research shows that 86–90% of couples experience significant improvement in connection and communication, with results that hold over time.
That was the turning point for me.
Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to specializing in couples therapy, completing over 500 hours of advanced training and consultation in EFT. Today, my practice is focused exclusively on helping couples repair trust, heal from betrayal, strengthen emotional bonds, and reconnect in meaningful, lasting ways.
I believe that even the most painful relationship struggles hold the potential for transformation.
Whether you’re caught in cycles of conflict, feeling distant from your partner, recovering from an affair, or facing the possibility of separation, I provide a space where you can slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and begin to find your way forward—together or apart, with clarity and respect.
At the core of my work is a deep respect for each person’s experience and a commitment to helping you feel seen, understood, and supported.
If you’re ready to feel more connected, more secure, and more hopeful in your relationship, I’d be honored to work with you.
